Delete your TradeScribe account

Before you delete: export what you need

Deleting your account permanently removes your invoices, quotes, reports, and job records. These are your business and tax records — send yourself copies of anything you are required to keep before deleting. We cannot recover anything after deletion.

How to delete your account

In the app: More → Settings → Delete account. The screen sets out what is deleted and what is kept, and — once you confirm — opens your own email app with the deletion request already written, addressed to us. Nothing leaves your phone until you press send there, and nothing is deleted until we have confirmed the request with you. The same screen can also clear that handset’s copy of your data and sign you out; that is separate from deleting the account, and on its own it deletes nothing from our servers.

Or by email: send a request to aifirstlink@gmail.com from the email address your account is registered under, with the subject “Delete my account”. We will confirm the request (to make sure it is really you) and then delete the account. You can use this route whether or not you still have the app installed.

We do not need a reason, and we will not try to talk you out of it.

What gets deleted

Within 30 days of a confirmed request, we permanently delete:

Deleted data also leaves rolling backups within the backup retention window described in the Privacy Policy §6.

Two things do not go, and one of them surprises people. Both are below.

What is kept, and why

Cancelling your subscription is separate

Deleting the account does not cancel a Google Play subscription — Google does not let developers cancel it for you. Cancel it yourself in the Play Store: Play Store → profile icon → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → TradeScribe. That is the only place to do it — TradeScribe is sold through Google Play and nowhere else, so there is no other subscription to cancel and nothing for us to cancel on your behalf.

Deleting some data without closing the account

You can delete individual jobs, recordings, photos, and customers directly in the app at any time. It goes immediately, on every device signed in to your account.

On our servers, an item deleted this way is marked as deleted rather than erased on the spot, and any photo, recording or PDF attached to it stays in file storage. That marker is what carries the deletion to your other devices — a record that simply vanished would look identical to one that had not synced yet, and it would come back. If you want a specific item erased for good rather than marked deleted, email aifirstlink@gmail.com and say which one; we will remove it and its files, and confirm when it is done.

A link you have already texted is a separate thing, and deleting the document in the app does not switch it off. The link points at the uploaded PDF, not at the record you deleted, so it keeps working until it is revoked. Turning the link off is its own action, and you can do it in the app — you do not have to delete anything, send anything, or email us to stop sharing a document. Texting the same document again also replaces the link and kills the old one, and voiding an invoice turns off its link automatically. Deleting the whole account takes every link with it. What none of those routes can do is recall a copy your customer already downloaded.
